Noise and Temperature Results:
Noise measurements were taken with a digital sound meter approximately 3cm away from the video card fan, to reduce the chance of other components such as the CPU or PSU fans to interfering with the final results. Software used for stress-testing was 3DMark Vantage, looped until the sound level was stable and stopped rising.

Temperature readings were taken at an ambient temperature of 22 degrees Celsius, on a open test bench and with the fan set to auto. Load and idle temperatures were monitored by MSI's Afterburner utility. Software used for stress-testing was 3DMark Vantage, looped until the temperate was stable and stopped rising.

Conclusions:
What we find in today's review is that even though the GTX 460 was released in July 2010, it still trades blows back and forth with AMD's latest HD 6870 in each benchmark, without being left behind. Overclocking MSI's GTX 460 HAWK provided a substantial increase in performance across the board, with the GTX 460 topping nearly all the results. Even at overclocked speeds, no matter which program stressed the card, the cooling solution, voltage adjustments and quality components implemented by MSI kept everything stable.

MSI's GeForce GTX 460 HAWK 1GB offers a variety of unique and innovative features not found on other GTX 460's on the market. With overclocked performance that tops AMD's HD 6870 with ease, you should definitely consider MSI's solution when looking for a GTX 460 1GB for your next upgrade.
