Test Setup, Game Benchmarks

Test Setup:
Today's test system consists of the hardware listed below, and as with all good testing a clean install is used and the latest Windows Updates are applied. The applications and games used in today's tests are the latest of what was available at the time of this analysis - links to demos and free trials are provided when applicable.

ASUS' GTX 560 DirectCU II TOP (ENGTX560 DCII TOP/2DI/1GD5) features a default core clock of 925 MHz (810 MHz reference) and memory running at 2100 MHz (2000 MHz reference). Overclocking allowed us to increase the core to 1010 MHz and memory to 2425 MHz (4850 MHz effective) matching the previously reviewed card's core voltage limits. And while we kept the core voltage to 1.087, it did allow us to further push it to 1.100 for a bit more overclocking headroom in Afterburner. But as with all overclocking results, it can vary from card to card.

Default specifications as displayed by TechPowerUp's GPU-Z are on the left, while overclocked settings and details are on the right.

Game Benchmarks:
We have compiled a list of popular and graphically challenging games, which include titles utilising Microsoft's DirectX 9, 10 and 11 APIs for testing today; tested in 1920x1200 and 1680x1050 resolutions that are most commonly used by gamers based on Steam's hardware survey. Results from the ASUS GTX 560 DirectCU II TOP at stock and overclocked are highlighted in orange.
