Another Gauntlet :

Mithickus has issued a challenge to all those single CPU folders out there for a race to 1000 points starting tomorrow at 12 noon EST. There has been 5 acceptances so far, so if you are interested have a look here.

Giveaway3 and other good stuff :

G3 is under way and we have 302 members qualified for this weeks draw already. Since yesterdays news article on the main page we have had another 98 nominations and we are fast approaching 500.

All this activity has done wonders for the stats and we have just about maxed out the modified Flogometer again, and that's not all folks we also managed to woop the [H]orde to the tune of 3595 points yesterday as well. Great going everyone, keep up the good work and we will soon have the blue line back.

Giveaway Week 2 Prize No Show!!! :

Unfortunately I cannot get in contact with Paul from ACR (Adelaide Computer Repairs) , he promised to donate the XP2100 TBred and at the last contact I had with him on the 15th of April everything was ok. But since then no answer so it is with regret I must axe the prize from week 2 and move the other prizes up one week.

But as usual these is an upside to this, Lombers has a spare CPU that he wanted to donate to the Giveaway but was a bit late for this one. So I thought why not build up a Folding Box based on this CPU which is a 1G Duron to replace the MIA CPU from week 2 and slot it in at the end of this Giveaway.

Therefore if we get enough generous members donations we can offer a FBOX to close Giveaway3.

What we need to build the FBOX

CPU + HSF: Lombers - Duron 1000
ATX Case:
AMD Motherboard: B5lurker - Shuttle AK31
Memory to suit above:BlackPantha - 128Mb P2100 DDRAM
Small HDD: :deranged128 - 1G
PCI Video Card:deranged128 - 8MB S3 AGP video card
NIC:/\/\usE+ PCI NIC and 2m cable
KVM: petercr

Extras

CPU + HSF: petercr XP1600
Ram: l00b3r 128 MB SDRAM
Ram: giles666 128 MB SDRAM
VC: Bollocks 2MB S3 PCI

So if anyone out there can help let me know ASAP. I will collect the bits and assemble it and get it up and running and send it on the the winner. The winner must be a committed folder who is willing to keep it folding. The prize will be drawn from those that have got a full complement of numbers from all the weeks of the Giveaway (except bonus number) and a pledge to fold full time with it.

If we can get enough stuff we could probably get 2 boxes running, but anyway if you can spare some bits drop by this thread and let us know.

The Blue line returns :

It has been nearly 12 months since team 24 owned the Blue line on Statsman's teams page, which denotes the team producing the most points for the week. As of the last update we have out produced the [H]ardOCP team by 8886 points for the week and 8567 points for the day. Well done team, lets build on this and really knock some points of our deficit and make the gap shrink considerably. Its going to take some hard work before we get with in striking distance but if we keep at it you never now what may happen.

FBOX bits :

Thanks to everyone that has donated bits to the FBOX. We have almost enough parts for 2 FBOX's, the only thing missing is an AMD motherboard to suit the Duron 1000 for box 2. Some of the parts are very impressive and I think we can a separate Giveaway based on these FBOX's when G3 has run its course.

Early thoughts so far is to have a BEAT the BOX Giveaway, this would be based on guessing how many points FBOX1 would produce in 4 weeks and actually having to out produce the box as well to be eligible. The winner would be the one to guess closest to the correct amount of points down to the 1st decimal. The exact CPU specifications would be known and it would be folding 24/7. The FBOX would then fold in stealth mode so that its username would be unknown. The exact details would have to be worked out but you get the idea.

Statometer has arrived :

Well its here, but instead of a Flogometer we have received a Statometer. The Statometer should do away with the Daily stats at the top of the page as well as replacing the old Flogometer. The Statometer has some nice features like fully adjustable scales, so if we really give someone a really good flogging its simply a matter of upping the multiple on the appropriate scale. For example the Day scale is currently set at 1X for up to 10,000 points, if the multiple was 2x then the scale would read up to 20,000 points. Thanks goes out to the ACME Electric Factory No2 for  providing the Statometer and hopefully it will perform up to our standards.
