An Australian man has hacked Siri to automate his home. Mr Schappi says his hack could allow users to do simple tasks such as turn their air conditioning on or off, control their home entertainment or alarm system and unlock their front door or car. But the hack may not last long, with Mr Schappi predicting Apple would want to close the hole he exploited. Discussion here.

VooDoo spotted this cautionary tale about a car going boom. i had an acetylene bottle in my truck, the valve was bumped so slightly and over night the truck filled with the gas. i noticed the smell, and opened the doors to air out the truck. i drove the truck out of the garage to get some more air movement. i went to roll the pass side window down and as soon as i touched the power windows. BAM. with me in the truck.

NASA's Voyager 2 has switched to backup thrusters to save power, extending its journey by another decade. Voyager 2 is currently located about 9 billion miles (14 billion kilometers) from Earth in the heliosheath -- the outermost layer of the heliosphere where the solar wind, which streams out from the sun, is slowed by the pressure of interstellar gas.

Closer to home, FOTW sent in this video of Jet-man Yves Rossy flying with two jets over the Alps. His custom-built jet suit weighs 54kg and can travel at speeds in excess of 125mph. Rossy used to fly fighter jets for the Swiss air force and in 2006 became the first and only man in the history of aviation to fly with a jet-propelled wing.

TheSSDReview played with SSD caching software with 7 drives. Our review today is, not only a look at NVELO Dataplex SSD caching software, but also, a round up of just about every mSATA SSD available today. It strikes to the heart of those of us who want performance, capacity and value in our desktop systems and notebooks and same very interesting results transpire.

FutureLooks checked out SSD RAID0 performance using two Kingston HyperX 120GB drives. In our SATA3 SSD round up, we showed you how just one of the sweet looking Kingston HyperX 120GB SSDs produced some impressive data transfer numbers that will more than satisfy the largest majority of users. However, some pro-users move a lot of data and multitask. Another SSD could help if configured in RAID. We took two HyperX 120GB SSDs and attached them in a RAID 0 configuration using a GIGABYTE GA-Z68XP-UD5 motherboard via the native Intel SATA3 ports.

PC Perspective checked out some hybrid drives. The result of this roundup is that due to the various hardware configurations each Hybrid solution is created for, there is no clear winner. The RevoDrive Hybrid dominates the field, but can only be installed into a desktop class machine. The Seagate Momentus XT provides the simplest drop-in high-capacity performance for laptops containing a single 2.5" HDD bay. Finally, Intel's Rapid Response Technology present on Z68 desktops and recent 68 series mobile chipsets, gives a flexible option that works very well.

Apple's bid to block the Samsung Galaxy in the USA has been denied. As the legal drama between Apple and Samsung drags on around the world, US District Court Judge has rejected Apple's request to block the sales of Galaxy devices. Reuters reports the ruling came out late Friday, with the judge deciding "It is not clear that an injunction on Samsung's accused devices would prevent Apple from being irreparably harmed,".
