Disney have bought Lucasfilm and already have plans to release another Star Wars trilogy. In a shocking announcement linking two of the best-known names in the movie business, Disney said today that it is buying Lucasfilm, maker of the "Star Wars" films, for $4.05 billion. In addition to bringing the "Star Wars" franchise under the Disney umbrella, the deal also means that Disney will now be the studio behind "Star Wars: Episode 7," which it said is slated to be released in 2015. Disney also said that it will subsequently release Episodes 8 and 9, and then release a new "Star Wars" film every two or three years. Discussion here.

Choice Magazine have revealed Australia's shonkiest products. "The Shonky awards serve as a reminder that businesses cannot provide misleading, less than truthful or dangerous products to consumers," said CHOICE spokesperson, Ingrid Just.

It seems the recent iOS Maps incident has caused a senior exec shakedown at Apple. The biggest of the changes involved the departure of Scott Forstall, an Apple veteran who for several years ran software development for Apple’s iPad and iPhone products. Mr. Forstall was an important executive at the company and the one who, in many respects, seemed to most closely embody the technology vision of Steven P. Jobs, the former chief executive of Apple who died a year ago.
