From SiliconAngel: Only just noticed there will be a debate between Turnbull and Conroy on Monday morning 9:45am AEST here. There's a question about the 25mb/s guarantee which is promising, but I don't think it was worded well enough - there's too much scope for Turnbull to avoid specifics.

Speaking of the NBN, over the weekend another 1.3 million homes were included in an updated 3-year rollout plan. Under the plan an additional 406,100 premises will be included in the NBN rollout in NSW, 302,800 in Victoria, 255,700 in Queensland, 181,500 in Western Australia, 117,700 in South Australia, and 45,000 in the ACT. More info here.

A tech journalist named Paul Miller took a year off the Internet and reports back from the real world - it's over-rated, apparently. I've managed to stay disconnected, just like I planned. I'm internet free. And now I'm supposed to tell you how it solved all my problems. I'm supposed to be enlightened. I'm supposed to be more "real," now. More perfect. But instead it's 8PM and I just woke up.

Bit-Tech have a great watercooled Raspberry Pi project. I will be building a scratch case for the RPi and also watercooling it. The block will span across the three main hot spots of the board. I also know there is no need to watercool it, but I like to do something alittle different and hopefully have a Pi to put in it!

Meanwhile there's a new tiny Linux PC called the BeagleBone. Today we have a new entrant that may provide the best bang for the buck for many types of users. It's called the BeagleBone Black and it's the latest in the line of "Beagle" devices that first appeared in 2008, courtesy of Texas Instruments. On sale now for $45, BeagleBone Black sports a 1GHz Sitara AM335x ARM Cortex-A8 processor from Texas Instruments, up from the 720MHz processor used in the previous $90 BeagleBone released in 2011.

Warner Brothers have been sued by the creators of Nyan Cat and Keyboard Cat. Warner Brothers is facing a federal lawsuit for using two feline-themed Internet memes in a video game without their creators' permission. The authors of "Keyboard Cat" and "Nyan Cat" have sued the media giant arguing that the game Scribblenauts, published by WB Games, infringes their copyrights and trademarks. The game's developer, 5th Cell, is also named in the lawsuit.

Staples, a US retailer, are selling 3D printers, in a sign of things to come. Interested in a fancy new 3D printer but don’t know where to start? Just hit the easy button – as in, Staples. That’s because the company today became the first major US retailer to start selling a 3D printer. You can now order The Cube by 3D Systems on Staples.com for around $1,300 or if you’d rather see it in person first, head to your local Staples retail store starting next month.
