Aratama Bashi recently posted a sobering set of photos of ANZAC Cove into the Photography Forum. They really give a sense of what ANZAC Day is in memory of. It's also worth noting that next year will mark 100 years since the Gallipoli landings.
They shall grow not old
As we who are left grow old
Age shall not weary them
Nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun
And in the morning
We will remember them
Lest We Forget
