More 3.06GHz and Hyperthreading stuff: PCWorld, AcesHardware, SourceMagazine and VR-Zone. Surely that's the last of them now. :)

A British hacker has been accused of hacking into nearly 100 US Military and NASA systems, more info here and here, thanks Torana.

Firemoth spotted nuclear powered laptops on the horizon, amazing stuff. Research scientists in ARC's advanced materials business unit have constructed a working demonstration unit able to power a small electric fan. The fuel cell consists of a small, hollow ceramic tube that is two millimeters in diameter and two centimeters in length.

PCMag have updated their benchmarks.. just when my order of their last lot of CD's arrived. Grr!

The rumours about AMD cutting 2000 jobs are true, it seems.

Jimx sent in a mind-wobbling article about mirror matter, with the current expert being based in Melbourne.

A few things about Battlefield 1942 - the v1.2 patch isn't here yet, so neither are the modding tools that will come with it. However, EA have announced a bunch of mods already, with links on their site. There's also apparently at least 1 official expansion pack on the way. I've heard it referred to (by vendors) as either "The Southern Front" (text-search for "battlefield") or "The Road to Rome". Not sure if that's just a change of title or two separate expansion packs. Anyhoo, they are non-free, you have to buy them in a box apparently. Also, NVIDIA have set up 10 BF1942 servers for people to play on.

David noticed more info about enabling HyperThreading on other P4s (not just the 3.06GHz part) on overclockers.com.

Whitey Ford sent in a site where you can make your own George Bush speech. In case that's not funny enough, try this calendar with things he actually said.

dcycloo noticed this flash portfolio.. lots of interesting little flash demo things. Some are kinda creepy. :)

CD media that looks like vinyl records! Very retro, thanks Paul.

From PostModern: The Geek Food Brewers are organising a brew-off for February. Interested brewers should post in this thread.

BetaNews compare a mini-PC and iMac, thanks daDude.

ORG2000 says that there's a Swedish Overclocking Championship coming up soon and The Party is going to be on again soon in Denmark.. pretty sure that's the biggest LAN/demo party in the world.
