Microsoft have withdrawn another buggy update. The update released as described in Microsoft Security Advisory 2949927 added SHA-2 hash algorithm signing and verification for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. It was one of three proactive security feature updates released on Tuesday in addition to the eight patches of Windows and Office. Meanwhile Apple have released 144 security patches of their own.

While our politicians debate the NBN, South Korea is preparing to roll out 10Gbps broadband. SK Broadband will introduce its new 10 gigabit per second Internet service at the Oct. 20 Plenipotentiary Conference of the International Telecommunications Union to be held at Busan’s BEXCO Center, in partnership with the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning and the National Information Society Agency.

From drayzen: There's a pretty cool game I've backed on Kickstarter called Human Resources, being made by the guys that made Planetary Annihilation. Unfortunately it's looking like it's going to fall short of its funding goal, which is both surprising and disappointing as it looks great! Maybe some OCAU backers could help get it across the line...?
