An interesting thing floating around from AMD today.. apparently they have decided to stop competing with Intel in the perpetual "smaller, faster" race for desktop CPU domination, thanks Firemoth. Hmm, going to refrain from making any comments until we get a little more info about this one. Some slashdot discussion here, thanks JaVa. BTW, popup ads with sound suck.

From looktall: I just thought those dial up, xp users might like to know that the XP service pack is now available on the cover cd's of many computer mags. I've seen it on APC, PC user and PC Authority, but no doubt more will have it. Beats doing a 130mb download. :o)
Craig sent in some articles that wonder if NVIDIA can really claim full DirectX 9 support on the NV30 (aka GeForce FX), because they have removed support for Displacement Mapping. More info here and here.
