Canon have announced what they claim to be the worlds highest resolution image sensor at a whopping 250 Megapixels. The roughly 250-megapixel (19,580 x 12,600) APS-H CMOS sensor sets a world record for resolution in its size, according to a Canon release, and is said to be able to distinguish lettering on the side of an airplane from 18 km away. People are reporting the loss of data thanks to the problem of Windows 10 automatically rebooting to apply security updates. Here is how to stop this from happening. Unlike Apple's OS X operating system, Microsoft Windows 10 does NOT save the state of open applications or documents, so they will automatically restore themselves after the computer reboots. The Raspberry Pi foundation, the creators of the popular Pi micro PC have released a touch screen to accompany the unit. The display has an 800×480 resolution, 10-finger capacitive touch capability, and an adapter board that is used both to power the display and connect to the Raspberry Pi with a DSI ribbon cable

Wouldn't it be nice to ditch those pesky device chargers? As long as it doesn't fry our brains as well that is.. uBeam is working on it. The Los Angeles-based company has developed technology that transmits ultrasonic waves (at a register well beyond what’s audible) that are translated by devices as a microscopic quiver; this vibration is converted back into an electrical charge to power anything with a battery, no wires or wall plugs required.

A team of Caltech researchers reports the detection of what may be the most distant galaxy ever found. The galaxy called EGS8p7 is more than 13.2 billion years old. The universe itself is about 13.8 billion years old.
