If you had a Dropbox account back in 2012, you might want to be aware of this breach. Last week Dropbox announced that it had performed a mass account reset and would prompt users who hadn’t changed their passwords since mid-2012 to do so. The company wrote, “Our security teams are always watching out for new threats to our users. As part of these ongoing efforts, we learned about an old set of Dropbox user credentials (email addresses plus hashed and salted passwords) that we believe was obtained in 2012. Our analysis suggests that the credentials relate to an incident we disclosed around that time.”

Ireland have been ordered to reclaim 13 billion Euro from Apple due to incorrect taxation. The European Commission started to look into Apple’s Irish tax rate in 2014, so the decision is the culmination of a three-year investigation. The Commission concluded that Apple received “illegal state aid” from Ireland — essentially a sweetheart deal that allowed the computer maker to unfairly reduce its tax bill in a way not available to other companies, according to the report. The arrival of VR headsets from HTC and Oculus might be one of the main reasons that seasoned and fresh PC DIYers alike are dusting off their system-building chops these days. Those headsets require powerful hardware for a good VR experience, and PCs from even two or three years ago might not have the grunt to provide the necessary pixel-pushing power. As we prepare to dive deep into those headsets ourselves, it only made sense for us to put together a hot new PC of our own to drive them.
