Arstechnica is reporting that AOL has pimpslaped 1 Billion e-mail spams in one day. The more blocked the better I say.......
America Online, Inc., the world's leading interactive services company, announced that this week it had blocked one billion spam emails from reaching its members in one day..... AOL is now stopping an average of more than 28 junk emails from reaching each account on a daily basis.
Silicon Strategies is reporting that China's Godson-1 a 32-Bit CPU will be followed up by a 64-Bit CPU dubbed the Godson-2.
Godson-2, which has also been translated into English as Dragon or Longxin, has already been prototyped. Samples are expected to roll in the first half of next year. The chip will be binary backward compatible to the 32-bit Godson-1, a path of compatibility also chosen by Advanced Micro Devices in development of its Opteron line.
Also along the same lines is the The Inquirer is reporting that that the development of semiconductor technology in China is hotting up to a point that it might rival that of the likes of Silicon Valley, also the fact that the Chinese government will pour $2.5 billion into a dozen R&D products, and is looking particularly closely at investing in CPUs.
Digit-life is reporting that Kingston Technology have ramped up its line of HyperX brand of memory modules, with 256Mb and 512Mb DDR modules both running at 333MHz (PC2700) and 400MHz (PC3200). Also to boot is the reduced latency of CL2. 1.2" (30.48mm) covered with aluminum heatsinks, so the current line up looks something like this with both 256MB & 512MB modules:
PC2700 333MHz settings: 2-2-2-5-1 (CAS Latency 2)
PC3000 370MHz settings: 2-2-2-6-1 (CAS Latency 2)
PC3200 400MHz settings: 2-2-2-6-1 (CAS Latency 2)
PC3500 434MHz settings: 2-3-3-7-1 (CAS Latency 2)
