We received an interesting email from Hitwise recently:
Hitwise is pleased to announce that www.overclockers.com.au ranked No. 1 in the most recent quarter among Australian websites. This ranking is based on visits among the Computers and Internet - Hardware category.
This first award isn't too surprising, as we've been contesting first place in that category for literally years. However, the big surprise was this one:
Hitwise is pleased to announce that www.overclockers.com.au ranked No. 1 in the most recent quarter among Australian websites. This ranking is based on visits among the News and Media - IT Media category.
This is big news for us and quite surprising, as it presumably places us above sites with much larger corporate backing and vast budgets compared to our own. We don't have access to the full rankings to see who else is listed in the categories, but we can assume the usual suspects are there.
So, thanks to everyone for helping cement our position as the #1 PC hardware website in Australia! Particularly our Major Sponsors: Computer Alliance, Plus Corporation and Altech Computers. PC Range have also been strongly involved with the site for the last few months. Of course, big credit has to go to my fellow newsmonkeys Mred32 and Gibbon, the team of forum Admins who keep things running smoothly and the vast community that makes OCAU what it is. Thanks guys!
