Thursday morning snafu. (0 Comments) (link)
 Thursday, 20-April-2000  11:33:06 (GMT +10) - by Agg

I'll get the hang of this thing eventually. I managed to delete the wrong news post, but luckily I still had it all in my history so I'm able to re-post it here. Thank god I don't have access to Agg's news posts or they'd all be history by now :)

PC Extremes reviews the Global Win CFA12 here. Looks to be a very nice unit, though I have heard it is a little on the noisy side. (uhm, npi there folks :)

Planethardware has reviews on the ADI Microscan G710 17" Flat Panel CRT monitor here, and the Microscan 9L 18.1" LCD monitor here. The latter unit is very nice, but the price isn't :) One for the lottery wish-list though.

If you have a spare US$400 and think your stereo just don't cut it for your PC, take a look at Firing Squad's VideoLogic Sirocco Crossfire Speaker review.

Enjoy some cheeseball tech humour with a quiz at Chip Testers. I got 5 out of 10.

Overclocking the 300A Golden Orb Style (a clip) -
"Everyone knows how overclockable the Celeron 300A's are but what happens if you take the most bang for the buck cpu and put it together with the most coolest Socket 7 cooler available ? What about 300A @ 558 Mhz. That's a whooping 86% performance increase. So just don't throw those 300A out the windows yet there might still be some juice left to keep it going just a while longer."
Check out the article. Thanks to YoLk at Hardware Corner.

A Sea Monkey game review? Only at Arstechnica.

Slot coolers have always seemed to be a waste of a slot to me. But if you've got slots to spare, maybe you could use one (or more). TechWatch (another groovi Aussie site) have reviewed the "Super Slot Fan".

Roy Wilson tells us that the present K7V bios version will not allow you to use a GFD. I can't confirm this since I don't have a K7V, but it's something you Athlon overclockers should check out before buying a K7V. Hopefully Agg will be able to clarify this more in his review.
