Another "what I think about some stuff" article on TechExtreme. This time it's about hard disk drives.

A review of the DFI CA-61 mobo here, an Apollo Pro 133A unit.

Wow! This is very cool, an MP3 player that looks like a cassette, so you can stick it in your walkman.. like those CD-adaptors for cars, you know. Funky. Only 64MB storage though..

This thing might be an interesting article on benchmarking, or just a counter-rant to the whole open-source benchmark thing lately. I dunno, I've not read it and probably won't. I just thought you should know. :)

PeterC pointed out that the guy who makes the Paradox GFD we reviewed a few days ago has gotten his Athlon to 1GHz, there's benchmarks and stuff. Look at that memory speed!

BXBoards have done a KX133 motherboard comparo here. That's the new Athlon chipset from VIA, o'course. Notably absent is the Abit KA7, but all the other biggies are there.

Hmm, Adaptec have a new UDMA (IDE) RAID controller that does Raid5 (better than the FastTrack etc). Info here and here. Apparently people have reported success with 16 and even 32 drives. In Aus, TerabytePC have them for AUD$899, yowch.

Body Moody sent word of a new radial cooler, info here, the ArctiCooler..

TechExtreme have reviewed the Soyo SY-6VCA, another Apollo Pro 133A mobo.
