Jim Baker from Realtime Systems sent a very interesting press release from Corsair:
128MByte PC133 CAS 2 modules shipping today Corsair Memory Inc., the industry leader in high density DRAM Dual In-Line Memory Modules (DIMMs) has announced that it is now shipping fully qualified production units of 128MByte PC133 CAS 2 memory modules. These modules have passed Corsair’s extensive qualification procedure.
The 128Mbyte PC133 CAS 2 modules from Corsair use the latest PC133 CAS 2 compliant MICRON MT48LC8M8A2TG-7E RAMs. These PC133 CAS 2 modules are a natural fit with the latest AMD Athlon processors, as well as the latest VIA Technologies KX133 chipset.
Jim adds:
Retail price in Australia will be in the order of $395 owing to the lousy conversion at the moment. They are rated by Micron to 143Mhz at CAS3 and 133Mhz at CAS2 with a 5.4ns access time, and standard 7.5 ns clock cycle. Specs make it look a very impressive module as Micron typically underate their components quite a bit.
Sounds pretty tasty! Gimme a test stick, Jim. :)
