Another big news night. Always on my shift.....
Scott pointed out this link, to "The SmartCase", a modified case that monitors a water-cooling system for flow, temperature, etc.
Adrian's Rojack Pot (anyone have *any* idea what that means?) have some new articles posted, including a look at some PDAs, and a some advice for Windows 2000 modem users.
Pro Cooling have an article up on attaching two Blue Orbs to a 3dfx V5-5500. They're also giving away some Blue Orbs and Ratpadz.
Fast-MHz have added more cases to their case-mods section.
NFS-Xtreme have posted some information on changing your Windows startup and shutdown screens.
Apu's Hardware are giving stuff away! To be eligable, you need to be a registered user on their fourms, and have 50+ posts. As well as giving away free stuff (can't complain about that), they've posted some information on silencing your case using noise-dampening insulation.
Overclockers Workbench have posted AMD's CPU production plans for Q4 2000 and Q1 2001. You'll have to scroll down a bit to find it. Apparently the 760MP chipset (the SMP capable version of AMD-760) is being delayed due to bus noise issues. They've also done a comparison between the Via 686A and 686B motherboard chipsets.
It's funny. Laugh. Blame Nick if you don't find it amusing (I do, and I'm sure I won't be alone).
Community Broadcast.
The organisers of "Geek Night Out" are looking for sponsors. Basically, "Geek Night Out" is a get-together of some of the Australian Computing Community getting together to meet, make friends, learn some new things, and generally have a good time. If you, or someone you know, might be interested in sponsoring the event, please click here.
Reviews.
Project 1GHz have had a look at the FrontX Multimedia Ports, read what they think here.
Tech Extreme have reviewed a "Firewall Switch", which is basically just a switch for disconnecting your PC from your cable modem/xDSL connection when it's not in use - providing a physical barrier to you being hacked.
The guys over at The Tech Report have reviewed the Handspring Visor Deluxe PDA.
Following their review of the 1.2GHz Athlon, the guys down at the FiringSquad have posted a review of the recently-released 800MHz AMD Duron.
Gaming in 3D have reviewed a sound sensitive Neon kit for PC cases.
Club Overclocker have reviewed a video card water cooling setup.
Via Hardware have reviewed Overclockerz Store Enhanced PC-133 RAM, comparing it to/with Mushkin's High Performance CAS-2 PC-133 RAM.
