Gazzza put up some pics of his fairly standard HQ08 fulltower here in the forums. Useful if you're thinking of buying one, shows the internals pretty clearly. Interesting cable-tidying technique. :)
MBM5 is out now! I've not looked at it yet, but I preferred the old 4.18-ish interface over the v5 beta. Then again, I never was too comfortable with change.. that's why I'm typing this on my good 'ole 386sx20.
Dan's reviewed another black'n'silver motherboard from AOpen, the AX34 Pro 2.. seems a good one. Apollo Pro 133A, Socket370.
Hypothermia are giving away a Duron 800MHz..
Apu'sHardware have a big driver comparison happening, different Det's, different rez's, different speeds.. all on a TNT2 Ultra with annoyingly huge graphs.
"The geeks over at Simboo's geekhouse have done it again, DIY Telstra cable mods, click here". They made me say that. If you go to jail, I never saw you or that link before, ok? :) Funny article.
AkibaPCWatch have a comparison of GeForce2 GTS vs GeForce2 Ultra. Text in Japanese, but pics and graphs are readable.. for example, you can see that the Ultra only makes a major difference in 1280x1024.
G3D reviewed a force-feedback joystick from MS..
Ooer, Akiba also have pics of 1.4GHz P4's on sale in Japan.. or maybe it's just an engineering sample. Maybe these are the same pics I've linked to 3 times now. Damn, gotta put "learn to read Japanese" on the to-do list for today.
ChicksHardware reviewed the Voodoo4 4500.. they also send word of a new case mods store in the UK.. http://www.coolcasemods.com.
TheRegister points out that it seems unlikely we'll ever see the P3 1.13GHz CPU after it's dramatic launch and almost-immediate recall..
Anand reviewed the Chaintech CT-6OJV2 Socket-370 i815E motherboard..
DigitalDeities have info on the promise hack and Win2K. This is of course the simple technique to turn a cheapy UDMA-66 controller into an expensive IDE RAID controller. If you're looking for nice pics of an easy way to do the hack, check out our article from months ago by Poly.
Silly Planet Gayforce piss-take website. Thanks Mike. :)
