Remember this from the other day? Christian sent some info about it:
Hey just thought I'd throw some info on that pic your way. It's from The Gathering '99. This IS the worlds biggest lan party it got into the Guiness Book Of Records in 99 or 98 under worlds biggest temporary network with aprox. 3200 nodes or something like that. I've been attending it for the last three years and it's quite spectacular. It's held in Hamar, Noway in something called the Viking Ship which is a olympic sports hall made for the winter olympics back in '96 held in Lillehammer, Norway.
This lanparty is more or less just amazing. It used to be a scene party, and in some aspects it still is, but the focus as been more and more towards games. There are large compos with neat prices to win in all sorts of categories like Q3a, FastDemo, 3d animation, fastmod, fast webdesign and so on.
You mentioned the power cords; they are big. Very big. Long, heavy and fat. In 99 one of them actually burned up and some electritian fixed it and the whole cable was put inside a fence. Mucho entertaining ;)
