Apu's explains exactly what all those memory timing settings mean. Turns out Normal/Fast/Turbo are not as simple as you might think..

If you're in a tweakin' kinda mood, you might want to check out the Win9x Tweak Guide on TweakMeister - if Win2K is more your thing, perhaps the Win2K Hints & Tips v1.4 on ARP is more suitable. While you've got the bonnet open, check out this Win2k Toolkit which lets you set a bunch of hidden options and fix some other stuff.. (Update:KngtRider reported problems after using that toolkit, be warned). Finally, this patch is supposed to boost NIC throughput in Win2K.

Speaking of Win2K, CAD have Service Pack 2 available for downloading. This is a beta and Microsoft recently yanked it off their own site.. so you'd have to be barking mad to install it IMHO.

Pat pointed out that PricePoint now have a cooling fans section, so you can in theory find the cheapest coolers without having to run around. Looking at the page though, there are a few entries like "Pentium Fan" and "Case Fan" and no other details about the specific unit like brand, size, CFM or dB rating etc. Hmm, kinda wonder how useful that will be, time will tell I guess.

..but if you're after some cheap fans, OatleyElectronics have 240v AC 120mm Sunon Fans for $9 AUD. Brand new, limited quantity.. thanks Redback.

Lots of interviews and info popping up on the net post NVIDIA's buyout of 3DFX. An interview with a few people from the industry here on 3DHardware, some info on rivazone (thanks MWP), more info on digit-life.

All you Voodoo5 owners can stop sniffling into your cornflakes now about the NVIDIA thing too - a few people pointed out this Q3Arena Motion Blur thing - people in IRC last night were saying this makes Q3 look awesome. Update: This is not a patch, it's a demo of an earlier pre-release version of Q3. So, you need to stick it in a separate directory by itself. Thanks hellfire.

This is not the way to lap a video card. :) Thanks alchemy.

A little more info on the 100MHz FSB Celly2's in the forums.. thanks HaRm.

Uhm, mind-reading helmet game to help kids concentrate. I think it's a good thing, but.. wow, are they serious? :)
