Sorry about no news today until now, was busy saving orphan child... no, no, they'll never believe that. Hmmm... okay, I was walking across the road and God spoke to m-.... nah, not that either.. *sigh*... okay, so I was playing Counter-strike out at work for most of the day. I'm sorry. *sob* At least I was, er... *ahem*... "owning" some of the time.
Right, first off, a bunch of links about the built-in "copy protection" thing that's apparently happening. It seems that the same technology can be used in cable/payTV, possibly making movies un-tapable. Many thanks to Malleus. Actual proposal. This didn't want to work for me. Does it work for anyone else? Slashdot's take on it. The Register has their opinion too. More from The Register, but this time regarding the copy protection via cable. Apparently, Kuro5hin.org had one of the first article about this topic. A longer article from SecurityFocus.
How The Grinch Captured The Flag. This is very well done, bloody funny too.
Cop a load of these SUMA GeForce 2 cards. Black pcb's are always damn sexy. Note that the GTS Pro has heatsinks on the memory chips, and it's DDR. *dribble* Check out the clearish fan on the MX below it. AND these cards are supposed to be relatively cheap.
An i815e motherboard with a SCSI controller? Don't laugh, it's feasible, and Asus agree. Here's a news article on the Asus CUSL2-LS, as its known. And some more information.
Fool.Com want to spit on AMD, laugh in the face of Cyrix/VIA (who wouldn't?) and *really* want to see the Pentium 4 do well. And they think it's going to do very well.
Calculating the Potentiality of Your GeForce2. (Is "potentiality" even a word?) I'm not that intelligent, so I won't waffle on about the formulas on this page, I'll just say that it shows you that you've gotten your money's worth with that new GeForce2 Ultra. You lucky sod.
The Guru of 3d has a Win98/Win2000 Dual Boot guide. Yar. Hmmm... not much to say. It's what it says. Nice snow animation.
American McGee doesn't not appear to be your stereotypical games programmer. This article is damn interesting, a good read. Check it out.
Finally, a collection of portable media players. They call it a music battle, but it's really just more of a comparo. I mean, where are the cannons and cavalry charges?
Reviews: Leadtek Winfast GeForce2mx DH Pro - at Extreme Cooling. ATI Radeon 32MB SDR Review - at X-bit Labs.
