Ah-ha! I have wrested control of the news script from Sciby! Actually, I snuck in here while he's not around, I better hurry and get this posted before he comes back.. :)

Hope you guys all had (and are still having!) a good holiday. I got some great diving in on wednesday, 23C water with good visibility, dead-flat ocean.. it was perfect, probably the best couple of dives I've ever had. Good riding and good food over the break, too. I think the best Christmas present was seeing my name in NewScientist tho.. :)

I've been getting 5 or 6 of those "Hahaha - Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" emails a day lately, I knew it must be some kind of worm/virus that someone out there has.. Manaz sent along a link with much more info about it. It's pretty amazing, the worm connects to a usenet newsgroup and looks for update modules for itself so it can be upgraded to attack more types of files etc.. neato. No problems for people who don't run mysterious executables received via email tho.. which if course includes YOU, I hope!

While on that site, I noticed an interesting page listing hoax virii.

HardOCP have been busy over the break, they have a review of the MSI K7T Pro 2.. I've heard a lot of good things about this board lately, seems to be the dark horse challenging the Asus A7V / Abit KT7 rein in the SocketA motherboard world. Go see what Kyle has to say about it.

They also have a Newbie Guide to Overclocking your Video Card..

Funny thing on Wired, the Top 10 VapourWare for 2000.. ie, software we were promised but never appeared. Some of these programs were nominated for the second year in a row..

Anand has an updated AMD and Intel CPU Roadmap.

TrainWrecker have hooked up an interesting heatsink test rig, for hopefully more accurate results. Thanks to Mitchell and TechWatch.

Reviews:

More in a bit..
