The I-was-late-for-uni-and-but-I-didnt-forget-about-the-news edition (0 Comments) (link)
 Thursday, 15-March-2001  12:01:54 (GMT +10) - by alchemy

Woke up late this morning and thought "crap - no time to do the news". So I copied-pasted all the emails into a html doc so I could do it in my spare time at uni. Arn't I clever :oP

Theres more craziness over at akiba.. this time it's a hardcore turbine looking fan thing. I'm sure it blows alot of air. Alllllott of air.

XG8 sends word that the GeForce FAQ has been updated, OverclockersOnline has a Detanator Driver Shootout happening to see which det gives you the best performance, LSD from eclinic (Don't ask me) reviews the new Det's for Linux in his funky way, and AcidHardware give them a look-in as well..

If that wasn't enough nVidia news for you, EuroGamer have some GeForce3 info up from the recent "Gathering" event, and GlideUnderground are asking if nVidia is too fast for us with comments from Part II here and from Part I here. I don't think the question is too *fast*, as that can never be a problem - I think it's too *expensive*.. GeForce3 anyone? If you *do* think nVidia is too fast you can always benchmark a GeForce II MX under 3D Mark 2001 and find out that it, well, sucks, compared to the new juice.

Now that I've given you enough nVidia news to last you through until Geforce9, (or if you've skipped all the nVidia stuff because your an ATI man), here's some stuff thats not nVidia. I promise.

Dan takes a look at a USB logitech product that vibrates. I think it's a mouse or something.

It seems IBM are jumping on the AMD bandwagon and intend on producing a SMP Athlon system, as Kaliban pointed out in the forums.

Someone on #overclockers (can't remember who) pointed me in the direction of an article about FTP Hijacking. Sounds like those scurvy pirates are at it again.. wonder what all this "warez" stuff they speak of is.

If all the nVidia news made you want to get as far away from an AGP slot as possible, I'm sure this would be the way to go. Dare ya to fit a GeForce3 in there nVidia, I DARE YA!!!

Howard sends word that people up in darwin play LAN Games, and have in fact set up a Darwin Gamers Assc. Comes as a shock to me mate, I didn't even think you guys had electricity yet ;)

Madness PC have checked out Comdex Canada, and found it to be pretty boring. As are most things in Canada, or so I'm told.

ModdingZone is telling everybody how to cut round holes. They also said something about skinning cats, but I beleive that is an alternative use for your dremel.

Finally, VIAHardware looks at the S3 SuperSavage mobile graphics chipset. It's not nVidia. I promised you.
