It seems OCworkbench have been going crazy with their overclocking.. they sent me an email saying they had a 1.3GHz Athlon running at 2.0GHz with a 188MHz FSB.. sounds insane. Catch is - I can't find it on their page. What I did find, however, was a P4 1.7GHz engineering sample clocked up to 2.3GHz. Thats some serious clock speed.. They also have pics up of the upcomming ABIT TH7-RAID P4 mobo..
Digit-Life have gotten all romantic on us and posted a Love Story. Of course the love story includes a P4 1.5GHz, a 1.2GHz Athlon and a 1.0GHz P3. Then theres a GF2U, a DDR Raedon VIVO, and of course a GF3. It'd be rad if the OCAU labs started looking like that..
It seems DX8b is or will be out soon, and the Ctrl-Alt-Del have it ready for you to download. Of course this isn't an official release from Microsoft.. so tread with caution.. I don't think MS would be as kind as Valve where with the HL leaked copy last week and release a fix. They've also got a copy of the nVidia dets 11.0 up. Where are they finding all this pre-release leaked software? or dare I ask ;)
Over at PCreview they've got a review of the Hercules Game Theatre XP sound card+box thingy giving some competition to the SBLive... and like everyone else, they like it.
Over in the forums Chris Nolan has discovered you can pre-order that ultra-hardcore Tyan Thunder K7 Athlon SMP board. You might want to start harvesting your organs to buy it tho.. US$959 is alot of money..
ZZZ Online #75 is out.. this time around featuring a wooden three-wheeled car, a tongue display unit and flexible batteries among other things. Madness, just pure madness.
Reviews: 2Cool PC Turbo on Club Overclocker. Our review here Samsung 955DF 19" Flatscreen CRT over on CDA. BSOD interview Andrew "Spode" Miller and find out he thinks being a webmaster involves hampsters. Finally, Tech-Planet look at the CPUfx DTS400. Its a Socket-A Shim. Lucky Agg didn't see that email. He dosn't like shims. And they don't like him either.
