Sorry for the gap in news.. I spent last night in jail! No, my violent past hasn't caught up with me (yet), I was doing a "Ghost Tour" of Maitland Gaol with a few friends. A tour of the (now empty) facility before spending the night in a cell with the spooks! Or in my case, with a bottle of vodka and a group of progressively drunker and louder friends. Didn't see any ghosts, but fun was had. The ride there and back in torrential, freezing rain I could probably have lived without, tho. I think all the other news people were off doing things too, hopefully not involving jails.. although, hang on, I think Sciby's still locked in that cupboard, whoops.
(ps: in anticipation of the people who are going to hassle me for spelling "gaol" as "jail", my early education was in a heavily americanised (overseas) culture, so "gaol" just looks really weird and wrong to me. cope with it. :) )
I'm hoping to catch up on a few articles this weekend, mostly reader submitted stuff like the Blue Orb thing below but hopefully a couple of my own reviews too. This is because Monday week I'm hitting the road, riding from Sydney to Perth via the Nullarbor, destination Exmouth for a week or so SCUBA diving and snorkeling with Whale Sharks. This is a trip I've been intending to do for 3 years or more, so I'm really looking forward to it. I've got a lot of loose ends to tie up before then and right now I'm operating on about an hour's sleep and nursing a hangover, so bear with me, news is on the way!
