Hmm.. played in a proper CS clan war tonight. Was fun, even tho my ping wasn't all you'd expect from a cable connection. I know alot of you write of clans as being full of 12yo power trippers, and to some extent your right. But playing in a team where everyone is working as a team to acheive the same result really brings CS together.. And then bringing the whole we-need-to-win-one-more-round-to-win-the-set type thing into it makes it even better.. more pressure. mmm.. pressure. Anyway, it's definitely (!!!!) a fun way of taking cs to another level.
LWD have a guide to changing the boot/startup screen in Windows 2000.
enfz sent in this article which I think he stole of /. about how IBM has developed a method of using carbon in a a similar manner to silicon in fabricating CPU dies. Except carbon is better..
DangerousDog have possibly the first review of Zalman ZM17CU video card cooler. It's basically one of those different-looking 'flower' heatsinks for your cpu's that has been squashed down to fit on a video card. Verrrry long, but thankfully flat. Be interested to see how it performs, as it's hard to get a fan onto 'em.
ElectricTech has intereviewed some guy called Dan Wood from Matrox.. Interesting thing that I read somewhere that some of you might of missed.. Matrox has decided the Hardcore Gaming market isn't one they want to compete in, with the product cycles and massive R&D costs involved just not balancing out for them.
Taconuts has built another one of those damn 'hs/f heat-stresser-tester' thing-o's, citing the lack of a thermal diode in the Athlon core as their reason. Why they just don't use a P3 is beyond me..
AMD has some *cough* price cuts *cough* about to take effect. Why the coughing? 48% drop in price is one hell of a price cut. Go AMD!! Incidently, someone pasted article in IRC, but a Mr Bell emailed it to me first, so he gets the cred for it. Please! e-mail all news to news@overclockers.com.au people! Telling us/me on IRC or to our personal emails is pointless.
Finally, alot of you might of probably already seen the plain-vanilla stickdeath animated .gif series. Well, this is the next level. Pretty hardcore.. for sticks, that is.
