Well, the PCDB just passed 3000 entries - congrats and thanks to MWP who created and maintains what has become such a big part of the site. ToranaGuy put in an entry for every PC in his house I think in a last-minute effort to get the magic number and his girlfriend's PC was the one but has no cool pics, sadly. Some interesting entries from the last few days: Banshee777's very cool blue glowing PC, looks like it's full of water, nemaste's cardboard duct among other mods and agur's videocard cooling overkill.

DesignTechnica have a quick article on choosing heatsinks.

Chris says that the cool animated TV show Futurama is being cancelled.. aww. There's a petition you can sign if you think it'll help dull the pain.

If you thought Telstra was rude.. just be happy you don't get bills like this one from Telecom NZ.. thanks James Brown.

Martinus has written a guide to lapping coppermine CPU's.. some hardcore stuff there. One of the very first articles I wrote for OCAU, back in mid-1999, was this Celeron lapping guide. Similar technique, good to see the hardcore stuff still going on out there. I've mellowed in my old age. :)

BlueSmurf is organising a group buy of 2-pack paintjobs for cases in the forums.

The ArsMasters have checked out Microsoft .NET.. good or evil?

Jaw174 spotted some lighted fan mods here and here which look pretty cool, also a hamster cage PC.

Mothug sent in some interesting tidbits about future AMD CPU's including the mention of a metal heat-spreader being standard on the Hammer chips. There's some pics of these new chips here on VR-Zone.

Pike found this thread wondering if thermal paste is really needed.

AcesHW have a SocketA Shootout, nForce vs KT266A, thanks statix.

F1DarkFlash says that this page has some cool Flash stuff on it, but it's huge and I'm on dialup and in a rush so I have noooo idea what it does.

TweakTown have an article titled IBM GXP Problems: The Truth Exposed and Possible Fixes.. certainly been a lot of controversy about those hard drives over the last year.

EETimes are reporting widespread problems with DDR333, thanks Mike.

Ungrateful Ninja sent in this article about nasty popup and tracking software that you may not even realise is installed.

Apparently TomsHardware are saying that a 128MB GF3Ti has little to no advantage over a 64MB one.. details here, thanks Sphinx.

klif-e spotted the world's smallest webserver.. very cool.

Wokket sent in fun things to do with your microwave. He wanted to make it clear he's not responsible if you blow up your microwave or house or cat or whatever. That goes double for me. :)

This PCDB entry is a converted and modded 386 case.. I'm sure I had a couple of those here years ago, looks like the old AST cases.

New Oz site Tweakers have been going crazy, popping out reviews of the Globalwin iStorm HDD cooler, Globalwin TAK68 socket cooler and Thermaltake Crystal Orb chipset cooler.
