Our Folding@Home Page has a new look! Also, there's a new sub-team in our F@H team called SlackNet.. it's apparently for SETI@Home users who want to help with our current battle to remain the #1 folding team in the world. Info in this thread, thanks Col.
There's a LAN near Penrith (Sydney) this weekend. However that seems like poor timing because this weekend also boasts the OCAU Sydney BBQ, location/time details in that thread. If you're going to come along, vote in this poll so the organisers get an idea of numbers.
Vindaloo sent a link to pics of the recent Perth OCAU BBQ/LAN.. don't be confused by the first couple of pics being of the GTR PC. Also, pics of a recent lan.. err, somewhere else.. here. Being thrashed by a kiddie is bad at the best of times but being beaten by a 5yo would be too much. :)
If you're using one of these Intel chipsets you might want to check out this new Intel Application Accelerator, thanks Greg. Apparently it provides Faster Boot Time via Accelerated Operating System Load Time and Accelerated Disk I/O for Games, Graphics Applications, Disk Utilities, and Media Authoring Applications among other stuff. Might be worth a shot.
We're getting towards the end of Summer now.. a Cray supercomputer may be just what you need to keep y'self warm at night, thanks Qaz. I'll just snuggle up to the nice rack I have at home. :) If you're still itching to eBay you could buy this very expensive GeForce4, thanks Mike.. it's for a good cause, so they say. That note to email a hotmail address at the bottom of the sale adds a touch of dodginess to the whole thing, though.
VyW have Part 3 of a RAID tutorial posted.
ExtremePC were at the GeForce4 launch in Europe.
If you're bored, you can tie this vector man in knots.. pretty cool, thanks Dink. I think we saw this before, I ended up pulling one of his arms off.. :)
