Right, sorry for the late news. My main machine died spectacularly last night (as did one of the testbeds, hmm) .. so I've been running around screaming and kicking stuff and occasionally trying to fix it. But it's all working (finally) now, so here's some news.. more in a bit.
Spike Milligan died a couple of days ago, apparently of kidney disease or as he put it "giblet failure". To quote Eric Syke this morning, "One of the jewels has fallen out of the crown of British comedy." RIP.. thanks looktall and bern.
Sciby reviewed the Apple iPod for us here about a week ago.. turns out they not only play music, but some people use them as portable leech-o-matics, too.
AnandTech have their coverage of day 3 and day 4 of the Intel Developers Conference posted. A few people noticed that AMD's Hammer-capable boards at the IDF have Intel's theme tune silkscreened onto them.. good to see some light-hearted rivalry among the seriousness of the CPU race at the moment. It's all fun and games until someone rings their lawyer.
A forum-goer had his motorcycle stolen.. grr. If you've seen it in Sydney, let him know. BTW, my Yamaha R6, also in Sydney, is still for sale. :)
A heap of people wrote in to say that Telstra have spent AUD $50M on broadband infrastructure.. more info here and here.
BlargOC have a roundup of P4 heatsinks, HardAvenue compared 3 GF3 Ti200 video cards and there's 3 GF4 MX440 cards in a shootout on G3D.
