Oh yeah, the site went down for a couple of hours a couple of nights ago.. I broke something and went to bed. Thanks to Andypoo and MWP for fixing it. Note to self: don't do sysadminny stuff at 2am. :)
[H]ard|OCP have info on a problem between EPoX's EP-8KHA+ motherboard and VisionTek's GF4 Ti4600 video card.. it's a clash of the capacitors, which prevents the card being inserted into the AGP slot. HardOCP lay the blame firmly at EPoX's feet for including tall capacitors in a "restricted component height" area as listed in the AGP 2.0 spec. Some more info in this thread in our Forums. I have the MSI GF4 Ti4600 here and it fits fine - although the capacitors are close - in that board. I have 5 other KT266A boards here for testing as well as a couple of boards based on other chipsets and none of them have components anywhere near as tall as the 2 caps on the EPoX in that area.
Anthrox sends word of a petition for the introduction of an R (Restricted 18+) category for games. As adults, we wish to dispel the widespread misconception that only children play computer games, and draw the Honourable Ministers' attention to research statistics which prove that a substantial percentage of Australians who play computer games are over the age of 18. The proposed reforms and amendments would allow us to purchase and play games that would conceivably be Refused Classification under the current guidelines.
Give your email to mbreview.com and win an A7V266-E.. doesn't say if it's open to international peeps or not.
PC-Critic squeeze a PC and a Mac into one case. I'm sure we've seen something like this before, but can't remember where.
BurnOutPC have a guide to starting an ATX PSU without a motherboard.
Martin pointed out this thread (number 36000!) discussing a method to make a Tualatin CPU work in an older motherboard.. maybe.
Tweakers have an article about new memory technologies like PC166. Uhhm, PC166 has been and gone, guys. We reviewed some from KingMax here over 6 months ago. Weird.
