Right, what a fun couple of days it's been.. not. As you hopefully noticed :) the server crashed yesterday afternoon after being in death throes (and not responding to console commands) for a few hours. When we got it back together, there was some minor filesystem corruption.. right across the forum database. So I've restored it as of the last backup, which was 4am yesterday morning. Not too much will have been lost because the server wasn't up for much since then anyway. :)
As for what caused the original crash, it's tempting to point the finger at the PCMark2002 mirror.. but from the logs, we really didn't do that much traffic from it. Nowhere near as much as from the 3DMark2001SE mirror a few weeks ago. The problem also seemed to be mostly mysql-centred, too.. anyway, I've taken the mirror down, we'll be keeping an eye on things and sifting through the logs for a while. Everything seems to be good now, tho.
Many thanks to MWP, Andypoo and the guys at AusGamers for their help getting things sorted. Lets see if we can get some news happening..
