Can't post or reply in the Forums? (0 Comments) (link)
 Friday, 15-March-2002  17:29:12 (GMT +10) - by Agg

The site was up and down late last night - not a server problem, we were doing some further testing in relation to the problem we had the other day.

On a separate note, we've been getting a lot of bounced emails back from people who have set the wrong email in UserCP in the Forums. Usually people change ISP's and forget to update their settings. This means any reply or PM notifications will be bounced back to the server and with nearly 11,000 members that's a lot of email and a lot of wasted bandwidth and server time. I have set the accounts with incorrect emails (based on the bounced messages) to "Requiring Email Confirmation" which means you cannot post or reply until you enter a correct email in UserCP and respond, as you did when you first signed up, to the email the system sends you. Of course, most people in this situation have PM's turned off so there's no way for me to contact them. So if you suddenly find you can't post, that's why. More info here in the Site Discussion forum.
