Waratt noticed this DirectX 9 Preview that's out.. it's in German, so you might want to stick this fish in your ear.
Ubeek sent in this warning/fix about a security problem in IE.. kinda old news, but still worrying. Something about that fix program seems a bit dodgy though, but I can't put my finger on what it is. Try at your own risk, as always.
TheTechZone reviewed the Chenming AE-601 tower case. It's another in the family of suspiciously-similar cases that we've seen from Chieftec, Enermax, EYO, Antec and Macase - we reviewed the Macase models here and here. TheTechZone say that Chenming manufacture the cases and everyone else rebadges them, but whenever you ask any of the manufacturers they all claim to manufacture them, it seems. The plot thickens.. nice cases, tho. :)

There's a patch floating around to convert .NET to XP Pro and vice versa, thanks Isengard. There was a similar thing back in the NT4 days and presumably also for Win2K.. without reading the article in too much detail, I'm not sure what the big deal is? Unless you want to use it to pirate the software of course, but most pirates will just get the version they want anyway. Everyone knows that there's not all that much difference between the Server and Workstation versions of MS O/S's so a script to make the appropriate registry/file changes doesn't seem such a big deal to me.
Does your HDD have bad sectors that keep moving around? Maybe they're ants, thanks Wokket.
It's been a bit quiet from these guys for a while.. but now, Issue 122 of ZZZ Online is out. Cool airships and using roaches for data storage, among other stuff.
