Happy lunar/chinese new year. :)

Big news from the last few days is that ABIT is merging with USI. It's difficult to know exactly what this will bring, but ABIT has had some financial concerns recently while still making popular products, so hopefully this will stabilise things a bit. OCW have an interview with ABIT PR about their perspective on it. We have never heard of USI. Tell us a bit more about them.

Amazingly it's been 20 years since Challenger exploded with the loss of all seven crew. Tech-Report spotted some image-quality issues in 3DMark06 with the new Radeon X1900. Pixel shader programs are compiled in the graphics driver, of course, so ATI should be able to fix the problem with a driver update, and that's exactly what they expect to do.

EclipseOC have a long ramble about some things that have happened recently, covering the performance of a 3200+ Venice, some issues with DFI Nf4 motherbaords, some ramsinks, and a quick hint of what's coming.

GideonTech detail a plexy PC case project. In this article, we will cover: drive mounting, cutting fan holes, and finish work.

From IntelInside: Effective June 30, 2006, Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, and Windows Me will transition to a non-supported status. After this date, Microsoft will no longer provide any incident support options or security updates.

Sony are putting an end to Aibo, their robotic dog product. The search for a more appealing, walking and talking robot for the household will continue elsewhere, however, as domestic bots still have the potential to revolutionize humans' daily lives.
