It appears that playstation 3 has become official. "Sony, Toshiba and IBM plan to spend US$400 million to develop the micro processing unit (MPU), for the next console in the PlayStation series. This new MPU is expected to be over 200 times faster than the PS2's current unit".

Activision and id Software have come together for Doom III. "id Software and Activision, Inc. announced today that Activision will be the worldwide licensed distributor for DOOM III , the latest installment in one of the most successful franchises in PC gaming history." Thanks Schrambo.
