Well what a busy week it's been. Funerals, Police applications, my smoothwall box being a royal pain in the... here's the news!

Probably the biggest IT news in the country at the moment would have to be Optus' decision to follow Telstra's lead and hard cap their broadband services. "550MB - $54.95, 3GB - $69.95, 5GB - $134.95, 10GB - $265.95". So sad to see everyone moving this way when other countries are talking about fiber to the home and we are in essence moving backwards...The one good thing about their new move is "Optus, however, will not cut off OptusNet cable customers or impose hefty fines if they exceed their download limit. Instead, it will reduce the customers' Internet connection speed."

Well, it seems that napster may not be dead after all. "German media conglomerate Bertelsmann AG will take over Napster's assets through a financial reorganization that reinstates key executives ... and provides $8 million for creditors but leaves nothing for investors." Thanks BIGsvenie

Sick of how long it takes to type an SMS? Well this may well be the solution.

Own an X-box and really hate playing Halo with a controller? Then have a look at this nifty little gadget.

Here's some info on a nice Dual Opteron system. Jeebus that looks sweet.

Well I'll be, not only do they make you feel sick if you eat a whole bag but gummie bears can now fool fingerprint recognition devices. Thanks Ubeek. On a security note, Kazza is also now worm infected.

Got any children's cartoon books around? Someone found out the toll free number in their one actually turned out to be a sex chat when they called it! Thanks Dewey

Competitions:
LiquidCC have a competition to name their new GPU/Chipset waterblocks - first prize in each category is the block they name.
