Chris sent in a copy of the mail he received from Telstra about outages and rebates. Here's a little bit of the email. " Telstra is pleased to inform you that we will be introducing the TelstraBigPond broadband ADSL Customer Service Level Guarantee to take effect from July 1, 2002. The guarantee means that once introduced, if the availability of your Telstra BigPond broadband ADSL network falls below 99 percent in any month, you will automatically receive a rebate on your monthly subscription fee in the following month's bill. Telstra will define network availability in the updated terms and conditions. The guarantee will operate in three tiers: - monthly ADSL network availability below 99 percent but equal to or greater than 97 percent entitles you to a 10 percent rebate on your monthly subscription fee ... below 97 percent but equal to or greater than 94 percent entitles you to a 20 percent rebate ... below 94 percent entitles you to a 50 percent rebate on your monthly subscription fee." Well it was hard to figure out why Kazaa stayed afloat and napster went under, not any more. Kazaa has announced that it will fold under the pressure of lawsuits and so on. "Kazaa, the company behind a popular file-swapping Web site, said it will fold because it cannot afford to defend itself against copyright infringement charges brought by the major studios and labels." Thanks Mr. Chilled.
