Right, this seems to be a "screwups" themed news post.

Screwup #1: The new expansion for the space-faring MMORPG EvE Online, "Trinity" aka Revelation III, seems to be bricking Windows PCs on installation, by deleting boot.ini. You know, the file that lets you, well, boot. Rioting in the official forum here. The official word seems to be "uh, don't reboot until we've worked out a fix". Thanks Moo dools.

Screwup #2: Microsoft make a nice Santa bot that kids can talk to via Windows Messenger about Christmas, pizza and oral sex. Microsoft spokesman Adam Sohn said the company's engineers tried to clean up Santa's vocabulary, but even after making changes to the software, the company was not comfortable keeping Santa online. Thanks Nick.

Screwup #3: Google's book search service occasionally returns a snapshot of hands wearing pink condoms instead of the page you wanted. Google Australia spokesman Rob Shilkin said Google was now using improved scanning technology to ensure wayward fingers no longer get in the way. Thanks Asher.

Screwup #4: AMD's quad-core CPUs continue to draw flak - now it seems that fixing the errata mentioned in our earlier news post affects performance. HardCoreWare have some info too.
