Not a whole lot of newsy stuff going on out there.

From FoderMe: I've been reading a new videogame review website which I find appealing for its "outside the box" approach. It also happens to be written by some Australian dudes, which is something I personally appreciate (cheque! colour! the metric system! etcetera!!) Some of the parts that amused me most: A literary deconstruction of a Sony press release. A 'booth babe' gallery consisting entirely of portrait shots.

NASA have decided to delay the Atlantis launch until early next year, thanks to the recurring fuel tank sensor issue. Meanwhile the Mars rover Spirit is preparing for winter and Voyager 2 has discovered the solar system is squished.

TonyR spotted a page about how the internet began. Not quite how I remember things but fair enough. :)

Iran have apparently built an AMD-powered supercomputer. This is all well and good, except AMD is an American company which means it's not allowed to trade with Iran. In response to questions about the IHPCRC's claim that it is using Opteron processors in the supercomputer, AMD officials issued the following written statement: "AMD has never authorized any shipments of AMD products to Iran or any other embargoed country, either directly or indirectly. AMD fully complies with all United States export control laws, and all authorized distributors of AMD products have contractually committed to AMD that they will do the same with respect to their sales and shipments of AMD products."

Soc reminded me of this funny sequence of images that apparently got James May fired from Autocar magazine. More info on his Wiki page. So I had this idea that if I re-edited the beginnings of all the little texts, I could make these red letters spell out a message through the magazine, which I thought was brilliant.
