Thanks to those sent in details about Creative releasing a new series of X-fi sound cards. Creative has now released two new sound cards, the Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional Series and Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion Series both target PC gamers and make use PCI-Express x1 interfaces. Creative have also made its ALchemy software for the Sound Blaster Audigy series of cards available for free, rather than charging users for the privilege. ALchemy, an application for Creative’s Sound Blaster Audigy series of audio devices that restores 3D audio and EAX effects for DirectSound3D games in Windows Vista. Discussion on the forum.

Virtual-Hideout were invited to visit the Intel Hawthorn Farm Campus. For once, it was a really informative presentation which included details covering Intel's mission, product releases, updates, and new services. Some of the specifics, excluding processors, included the newest motherboards now hitting the shelves, future laptop platforms, and Intel's VPro service.

Hardware Zone preview the Gigabyte EP45-DQ6 motherboard, which is set to be released in the next couple of weeks. The DQ6 heavyweight is big on storage, security and networking bandwidth, you would be hard-pressed to find a rival with so many options.

A story published by Tom's Hardware that involves two big motherboard manufacturers - GIGABYTE and ASUS. According to GIGABYTE's technical team, ASUS is lying about its EPU (Energy Processing Unit) energy efficiency performance figures and is playing tricks with its users. ASUS claims that EPU outfitted motherboards can deliver up to 80.23% "power savings" from motherboards without EPU components. There is also a response from ASUS on the matter.

Tom's Hardware also tested a variety of video cards and processors to see what combinations give you the best balance of GPU and CPU performance.

This week the Escapist presents the latest episode from Zero Punctuation where Yahtzee reviews “Grand Theft Auto IV”. Yahtzee is a British-born, currently Australian-based writer and gamer, when he isn't talking very fast into a headset microphone he writes a column for PC Gamer.

For Firefox fans, release candidate 1 of Mozilla's Firefox 3 is now up for grabs. If you are already running the beta version it will automatically install the latest release when checking for updates.
