Time for some news I think.

Leroyputz found a demo page for Bell Labs text to voice synthesizer. You can type in what you want to hear and see how it sounds from a computers point of view. Old I think, but still funky.

"An asteroid the size of a football field passed extremely close to Earth last week but it remained undetected until days later, according to astronomers. The space rock missed our planet last week by only 75,000 miles (120,000 km), about one-third the distance to the moon, making the near collision one of the closest ever recorded." Click here to read more. Pretty scary when you think about it. Cheers Sniper1G

Rye sent in a link to a Glowy Geforce 4 Mod. That actually looks pretty nifty!

An article describes how AMD played a role in the creation of Star Wars 2.

Could VHS be on the way out already? "It's joining Borders among the first national retailers to start phasing out the VHS format. The company said it's because people who buy movies are now more interested in DVDs." Thanks Jason.

Nice setup from teedius here and here in our Modding & Electronics forum.

Another article up about AMD vs Intel. "I was an AMD fan. I had nothing but respect for AMD, but lately I am starting to lose some of my respect for AMD. They make great processors and I currently have a 1700+ in my main rig. However I am beginning to warp over to the dark side. I am no longer an AMD fan, but I am also not an Intel fan."

In the US, Agents are pursuing terrorists online while closely monitoring talk in chat rooms and websites. " U.S. officials are searching the Internet for the reappearance of a Web site that they believe has been used by al-Qaeda to deliver messages, including possible instructions for its next attacks, to its operatives around the world."

Is world domination on your to-do list? Perhaps you should check out this 'evil' site. Example, Budget Lair with Mini-Dome... a 30 x 30 x 20m corrugated metal lair with incorporated mini-dome, suitable for small missile launches, medium-sized lasers, or other small-to-midsize superweapons. Includes convenient, obvious self-destruct mechanism. A/C and electricity extra. Thanks Bern.

Think it's possible for a 145mile an hour tennis serve to bury the ball? Think again. Thanks Mitch.

A few people sent in word that the new 4 in 1 drivers are out. On that note, the new Epox 8k3a/+ bios is available.

How does unlimited ADSL sound? Too good to be true? Will be interesting to see where this goes. Thanks Tarrasque.

UB3R sent in a, well weird robot comic type thing.. Ah, just check it out. Also, Michael found this really addictive online Soccer goal kicking game... which delayed the news for about 25 minutes.. :)
