Today is supposed to be Matrox Parhelia day, when this new video card will no doubt be discussed at length on a large number of websites. The flood hasn't quite happened yet, but a couple of (presumably NDA-breaking) tidbits have surfaced: This Israeli site has benchmarks and anti-aliasing info, while this link used to go to a review on TomsHardware.DE .. but now just redirects to their graphics section, so I assume it was yanked. Some discussion and info in this thread in our OC & HW forum. The new card doesn't look too impressive on the speed front from these first looks and I doubt the triple-screen feature is going to make many people choose it over an nVidia solution, especially as it seems to be priced at not much under $1000AUD, well into Ti4600 territory. A shame, some competition at the top end of the market would have been nice.. I guess we'll see as more benchmarks/reviews come to light.
Paul spotted this tool for overclocking nvidia cards under linux.. of course if you're using windows, you should use coolbits.
Wired have some interesting stuff today.. info about Neverwinter Nights, a game which lets you create adventures and environments for other players to interact with. Kinda like being a Wizard in a MUD or a GM / DM in Dungeons & Dragons.. but in a modern, graphically-rich game. Plus, hearing-aids that emit static deliberately to help you hear better and AI assistants for altzheimers sufferers.
Some silly stuff for the non-bandwidth-impaired.. some soccer-related funny-pet videos (no they're not real, especially not the dog one :) ). Cat and Dog.. thanks Josh and Wolfy.
