The wreckage of Steve Fossett's plane has been found, indicating he died instantly after crashing into a mountainside. An NTSB team arrived Thursday to investigate the crash. Rosenker said investigators, based on examinations of the debris, believe that the plane struck the mountain horizontally but not necessarily head-on.

Digit-Life checked out the Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9770 in real-life apps, focussing on how memory speed affects performance. Adobe Photoshop takes advantage of faster memory more effectively with the QX9770 processor -- twice as efficiently as with Phenom X4 9850. Alas, "twice as efficiently" in this case means just 6% versus 3%, that is very little at best.

Another laptop thief has been sprung by remote access, thanks Sniper. Jose Caceres said he used a remote access program to log on every day and watch his computer being used, and then tipped off police, leading to the arrest of a 34-year-old male suspect.
