Fudzilla report on crazy expensive motherboards for i7 processors. We've yet to see pricing from a wide range of other companies such as Gigabyte, MSI, Foxconn and ECS, to mention a few, so there might still be room for some more affordable boards to turn up.
AMD reckon their Shanghai processors will be 35% faster than their current products. The advances are direct results of larger 6MB level-three cache, thinner 45nm process technology as well as micro-architectural improvements that boost instructions per clock (IPC) throughput.
Sniper also spotted this PCIe-based SSD. The ioXtreme brings high-end PC users 80 GB of PCI-Express based, high-performance, solid state storage that was designed for the world’s fastest supercomputers.
