AMD Becomes Fabless

AMD is splitting its factories into another business with investors from Abu Dhabi. More info here. The deal should shore up AMD's finances and let it focus on the design and development of computer chips. The new venture, to be based in the U.S. and for now called Foundry Co., will include AMD's manufacturing plants, including two in Dresden, Germany. The stock market has responded positively to the news. TechReport have their thoughts posted also.
