India have launched their first lunar mission. The unmanned lunar orbiting spacecraft Chandrayaan-1 was launched with an Indian-built rocket at 6.22am (local time) from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, 80 kilometres north of Chennai. Discussion here.
The first traffic noise cameras have been deployed in Australia. The fully automated noise camera systems have been in development since 2005 but are now are active and issuing warning notices in the small New South Wales suburb of Mount Ousley, according to the Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) Annual Report.

ThePirateBay are boycotting all press after being smeared in the media for publishing publicly-available autopsy photos. As many people know, The Pirate Bay is known not to censor anything from the site that is legal under Swedish law. So, when The Pirate Bay got emails from several people who asked them to remove the torrent, or the photos, they didn’t comply.
CD sent in this story about a Dutch court convicting 2 people of stealing virtual items. The Leeuwarden District Court says the culprits, 15 and 14 years old, coerced a 13-year-old boy into transferring a "virtual amulet and a virtual mask" from the online adventure game RuneScape to their game accounts.
