Well the verdict is in, and it seems the Pirate Bay's four Swedish founders were sentenced to prison today. Fredrik Neij, Gottfrid Svartholm Warg, Peter Sunde Kolmisoppi and Carl Lundstroem were given jail sentences of one year each by a Stockholm district court today. The court ordered the defendants to pay compensation and damages of 30 million kronor ($3.6 million), below the more than 100 million kronor claimed by prosecutors. An Aussie inventor has won over Microsoft. AN Australian inventor is set to share in a damages payout of more than $500 million after a US court ruled that Microsoft, the world's largest software maker, infringed a patented technology used to deter software piracy.

In January this year the personal account details, including credit card numbers of up to 60,000 Bottle Domain customers were posted for sale at an online forum by a computer hacker.
