Betanews reckon that WinXP is quicker for browsing than Win 7. In a set of comprehensive Windows Web browser performance tests conducted by Betanews on August 7 -- our first test of browsers running on the final Windows 7 RTM Build 7600 distributed by Microsoft yesterday -- the five major families of browsers tended to run 13% faster on Windows XP Service Pack 3 than on Windows 7, and 29% faster than on Windows Vista Service Pack 2.

MadShrimps have a DDR3 roundup. Corsair Dominator and Mushkin Redline modules have always looked better than nice, and now they have the performance to match. We put these two against the OCZ Blade, a real high end kit based upon Elpida's "hyper" chips, and against our 8 previous triple channel kits, in order to get a good view of the Core i7 memory landscape to date.

Coolaler seem to have an i5 750 running at 4GHz - the text isn't English but the pictures tell the story. Just looks to be air-cooling, nothing too fancy.

THG have some info and screenshots from id Software. At Siggraph id Software gave a presentation entitled "id Tech 5 Challenges: From Texture Virtualization to Massive Parallelization," which conveniently included new screenshots from the developer's upcoming Rage title.

Paypal has apparently added some fees recently, and people are saying they should have made it clearer. "We didn't want to make a huge formal communication out of this pricing change, because we weren't really adding any fees, and we were hoping it would be a more useful experience for people," Hill said.
