Apple released Mac OS X 10.6 recently, AKA "Snow Leopard". DigitalTrends have a complete guide, while Phoronix looked at performance gains. We firmly believe that as of right now these are the most detailed desktop performance numbers available concerning Snow Leopard, but we already have more figures on the way. Discussion here.

Metku have an ancient phone mod. It could have been nice to replace the hardware inside the old Xbox but I wanted to combine the project with the dream of mine, using an old cell as a base for the project.

I4U upgraded WinXP with an SSD. The performance gains are well worth the money especially if you have not to spend a day reinstalling Windows XP and all the apps. That is right I dared to use Linux DD command to copy Windows XP from my old HDD to the new SSD.

HotHardware meanwhile discuss upgrading your laptop to SSD. Upgrading your notebook's legacy hard drive to a new, fast SSD is a substantial upgrade that makes good sense for a number of reasons. First, Solid State Drives offer orders of magnitude higher performance under certain conditions, with blazingly fast random access times. They also produce much less heat versus a standard 2.5-inch notebook hard drive and are virtually immune to shock and vibration trauma that will send your old spinning hard drive to an early grave.

DriverHeaven checked out Quad SLI with the ASUS MARS. Asus have just rewritten the Nvidia rulebook with the release of their 1 grand video card - the Asus MARS. Its basically two 285's on one board with 4GB of high performance ram. Asus sent us TWO of these limited edition boards and we put them in a watercooled system to see just how many frames they can deliver with all the modern gaming titles.

Some odd tidbits: David noticed a mobile phone that turns stoves on and Jason spotted Cockney cash machines. The young people laughed when the ATM asked them if they required "some moolah for ya sky rocket".

Today's timewaster is E Motion, a physics game with tutorial, suggested by Tzorst.
